Pneumonia : Causes, Symptoms and Herbal Treatment
Pneumonia is very rare in people who are otherwise healthy. Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs, which are partially filled with fluid. The common causes of pneumonia include viruses, bacteria and fungi.
What is pneumonia?
Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs. It can be caused by bacteria, viruses, and fungi. There are many different types of pneumonia depending on what causes it and how severe it is. The most common type is bacterial pneumonia (which includes strep throat) because it's easy to treat with antibiotics if you catch it early enough. If you don't get treated quickly enough or if your immune system isn't strong enough to fight off a bacterial infection like strep throat then you could die from it!
Another kind of pneumonia called viral pneumonia occurs when a virus infects your lungs instead of your immune system fighting back against it; this type doesn't respond well to antibiotics either so treatment involves treating symptoms with medication like corticosteroids instead
What are the most common causes of pneumonia?
Pneumonia is caused by a number of different factors, including bacterial and viral infections. The most common causes are:
Bacterial pneumonia - This type of pneumonia results from an infection with bacteria that are normally present in the lungs. It can be caused by many different types of bacteria, including Streptococcus pneumoniae (the causative agent for most cases), Haemophilus influenzae (Hib), Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MMP), Chlamydia trachomatis (C. trachomatis) and Legionella pneumophila.
Viral pneumonia - Viruses such as influenza have been found to cause pneumonias in some people who have already had the flu before contracting another type of respiratory illness later on down their path towards recovery or death
How do we treat pneumonia?
The treatment of pneumonia is based on the underlying cause.
Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial pneumonia, which accounts for 80% of cases. However, these medications are only effective if taken within 48 hours after exposure to the bacteria responsible for your infection. If you have a delayed diagnosis or delay in starting treatment, there's a greater chance that your condition will worsen and become worse than it would have been had you started treatment sooner.
Vitamins and minerals can help improve symptoms associated with bacterial infections such as cough and fever by increasing immune function (which helps fight off diseases like pneumonia). Vitamin C may also increase lung breathing capacity; however, this effect has not been proven scientifically so far.
Pneumonia is very rare in people who are otherwise healthy.
The symptoms of pneumonia are similar to those of other infections, and can include:
High fever
Coughing up yellow or green phlegm (mucus)
Breathless, fast breathing on exertion or activity
